Does jupiter have a surface?

3 Answers

It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other giant planets, Jupiter lacks a well-defined solid surface. Jupiter is primarily composed of hydrogen with a quarter of its mass being helium, though helium comprises only about a tenth of the number of molecules.

As a gas giant, Jupiter doesn't have a true surface. The planet is mostly swirling gases and liquids. While a spacecraft would have nowhere to land on Jupiter, it wouldn't be able to fly through unscathed either.

No. Jupiter is made up almost entirely of hydrogen and helium, with some other trace gases. There is no firm surface on Jupiter, so if you tried to stand on the planet, you would sink down and be crushed by the intense pressure inside the planet.
